Here at BackTrack Youth Works, Armidale we have a couple of goals, to Keep Kids Alive, Out of Jail, and Chasing their Dreams.
We are looking for a part-time, 3 days per week experienced, Wellbeing Coordinator - Community and Counselling to help our young people overcome health, personal, physical and mental conditions to rebuild and restore their lives here in Armidale, NSW
Key Accountabilities (but not limited to) of the role:
Counselling and Case Management
As part of a team and in collaboration with the BackTrack Social Worker, General Manger - Core and Wellbeing and Wellbeing Team:
▪ Plan, deliver and evaluate Wellbeing and Counselling services to produce a framework of trauma informed practice.
▪ Determine individual participant requirements for addiction and psycho-social support and facilitate referral to appropriate support services.
▪ Conduct risk assessments to ensure priority and immediate interventions are taken when deemed appropriate.
▪ Provide high quality incidental counselling and brief intervention counselling for BackTrack participants utilising a range of therapeutic approaches.
Relationship Management
▪ Communicate with parents, carers, and participants in a consistent, appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner.
▪ Liaise with lawyers, court staff and support services to provide information about young participants where requested.
▪ Advocate and liaise with community resources, systems and service providers including NSW Civil and Tribunal, Office of Public Advocate, National Disability Insurance Scheme, and Department of Health and Human Services as required.
▪ Ensure appropriate and professional communication with all BackTrack staff.
Operating hours: 8.00am - 4.00pm
Required:
2 or more years experience preferred.
Full working rights within Australia
Must hold a current NSW Working with Children Check
Must hold a current driver's licence, preferably manual licence
