About WHS Foundation

The Work Health & Safety Foundation (WHS Foundation), established in 1972, is Western Australia’s only not-for-profit work health and safety training and service provider. 

The WHS Foundation serves the community as a relevant and valued social-purpose organisation, advocating, educating, and facilitating the enablement of Safer, Healthier Work. Our organisational values are Quality, Integrity, Reliability, Positivity and Humanity. 

Our WHS Centre is conveniently located just off the Freeway in North Lake with ample staff parking and amenities. Our positive and friendly team is working together to achieve our strategy in rebuilding, regrowing, and revitalising our business under the new branding.  

About the position 

We are expanding our WHS advisory and training areas and seeking new or recent WHS graduates who want to commence or advance their professional WHS career working with a diverse range of clients across broad industry groups to improve health and safety in WA workplaces. 

Key duties for the role include being part of a multi-disciplinary WHS service team providing the following: 

  • WHS management system design, development, and assisting with implementation
  • Auditing and review of client WHS management systems and practices
  • Development and delivery of Nationally Recognised (NRT) WHS training 
  • Tailored WHS training development and delivery
  • Incident management and investigation
  • Conducting WHS risk assessments, inspections and reviews
  • Facilitation of workshops and discussion groups

Candidate requirements 

We are seeking positive, team-oriented, enthusiastic people with the following qualifications, skills and aptitude:

  • Tertiary qualifications in health & safety science, engineering or a WHS related discipline.
  • Developing knowledge of health and safety legislation including WHS harmonisation.
  • Sound written, verbal, analytical and presentation skills.
  • Some work experience undertaking WHS advisor or officer duties.
  • WHS research skills.
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or willingness to undertake training). 
  • Familiarity or experience in use of WHS information systems.
  • Current driver’s licence.
