About the Role

Reporting to the National WHSEQ Manager, the position will form part of the WHSEQ team and will be based in head office at Dry Creek, SA however would be required to be mobile to attend various sites to help support the business. The role will provide continual improvement through mentoring in WHS functions and provide assistance to the WHSEQ Advisors and Operational Teams.  The role will assist and mentor in effective incident investigation, auditing of high-risk functions, and driving continual improvement to ensure effective implementation of the Company’s Integrated Business Management Systems.

Responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to: 

  • Attend site on a regular basis to ensure the McMahon Services Safety Program is effectively implemented and mentor WHSEQ Advisors in the successful implementation of the program
  • Conduct face to face delivery of internal Business Management System training sessions as well as train relevant personnel on the effective application of McMahon Services Integrated Business Management Systems 
  • Mentor and assist in incident investigation processes including assisting in investigations of serious incidents
  • Assist in developing WHSEQ bulletins / lessons learned for sharing across the business
  • Attend toolbox meetings and encourage workforce feedback on WHSEQ matters
  • Conduct drug and alcohol testing where required 
  • Assist in the facilitation of union visits with regards to safety matters on sites
  • Assist in the implementation of Company WHSEQ processes 
  • Ensure project specific WHSEQ Management Plans are reviewed as required by project teams
  • Conduct internal Auditing of Projects
  • Assist project teams prepare for external audits

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have; 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong understanding of WHSEQ principles and their application
  • Certificate IV or greater in WHS
  • Ability to obtain ADF DCAC & Police Check
  • Current Valid Driver's Licence
  • Construction Industry White Card
  • ICAM Lead Investigator Training (desirable)
  • Management System Audit Qualification (desirable)
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • Good time management skills and ability to work independently
