 Your new role 

The Workplace Safety & Sustainability Specialist is a crucial role within the business. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards when it comes to workplace health and safety as well as environmental sustainability across all business operations. 

This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic planning, and effective communication skills to develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive health, safety, and sustainability programs.

Main duties will include: 

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining health & safety programs.
  • Implement sustainability initiatives, such as a Scope 3 emission strategy, and identify opportunities for resource conservation, waste reduction and energy efficiency. 
  • Develop and deliver health and safety training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislations, standards and regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments, including incident investigations.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and standard procedures.
  • Develop and implement strategies minimising environmental footprint across all business operations.
  • Identify opportunities for resource conservation, waste reduction and energy efficiency.

What you'll need to succeed 

  • Degree in Health and Safety, Sustainability, Environmental Science or similar.
  • Proven experience in Workplace Health and Safety, preferable in a Manufacturing/ Distribution Industry.
  • Knowledge regarding Australian WHS regulations and environmental standards.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
  • Junior to mid-senior level experience in a Health and Safety/ Sustainability field.
