WHS/HR MANAGER

Satake Australia Pty Ltd - Denny's Silos has been in business for over 60 years and are considered to be one of the leading manufacturers of silos and grain handling equipment in the Southern Hemisphere. 

An exciting full-time opportunity has become available for a WHS/HR Manager to join our team based in Allora, QLD.

As the WHS/HR Manager, your main focus will be to ensure injuries are eliminated and the staff are healthy and safe in the workplace.

 Role Specific Responsibilities

The Duties and Responsibilities of the WHS/HR Manager are to:

• Develop, implement, and maintain a Work Health and Safety Management System, aligned with relevant legislation and codes
• Support the strategic objectives, continuous improvement, and ongoing compliance with legislation, codes, and operational & business requirements
• Provide health and safety advice and support in managing health and safety issues and risks
• Schedule external training
• Maintain all on site safety standards by conducting audits to ensure compliance and actioning potential safety issues
• Manage WorkCover related matters and assist with the facilitation of all workplace injury management and return to work/rehabilitation functions
• Complete/support WHS investigations when required
• Coordinate and manage the recruitment process
• Execute the company induction process
• Assist with performance management & review process
• Investigate and complete disciplinary processes

To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills

• Relevant qualifications or extensive experience in Workplace Health & Safety – previous experience in the Construction industry will be highly regarded
• Knowledge and application of Health and Safety & FairWork legislation
• Experience in WHS auditing and investigation into incidents and accidents
• Experience with creating Risk Assessments and Safe Operating Procedures
• Effective team player with ability to work with a collaborative and geographically dispersed team
• Strong relationship building skills
• Experience in problem solving queries through to a satisfactory conclusion.
• Ability to prioritise and complete tasks in a changing environment
• Current “C” class drivers’ licence
