AddressBlair Fox Pty Ltd is seeking to appoint a Wind Farm Technician to be based at West Hills Wind Farm near Lancelin in Western Australia, servicing West HIlls and other Wind Farms that we manage.
This is a permanent role with a 4 day roster, with rotating on-call.
About the role:
Your role will involve:
- Wind turbine planned maintenance and inspections.
- Reactive maintenance and fault finding.
- Undertaking electrical Balance of Plant maintenance activities.
- Accurate record keeping in our computerised asset management system.
- Complying and assisting with HSE procedures.
- Respond to after-hours callouts based on the call-out roster.
To succeed in this busy and varied role you must:
- Be able to read and interpret schematics
- Be confident working at heights
- Have a demonstrated and consistent commitment to safety policies and procedures, and be able to work within those requirements
- Be self-motivated with excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic to ensure our clients’ needs for reliable energy supply are met
- Enjoy and be able to work independently and as part of a small team
- Have a strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrate an interest and success in fixing things
- Be confident in your use of information technology related to the role
Qualifications and skills:
To be successful in this role it is essential that you possess and can demonstrate:
- A Grade Electrical trade qualification
- A current unrestricted Western Australian driver's license
- Sufficient physical fitness for climbing of wind turbine towers (please note this role is subject to pre-employment medical testing and drug screening and continuing fitness-for-work health checks).
It is desirable that you possess and can demonstrate:
- Experience with power electronics: inverters, rectifiers, UPS etc.
- Previous experience in the wind industry or industrial electrical projects
- A turbine training certificate and
- A current first aid certificate.
In addition you will be able to demonstrate:
- A commitment to safety, high performance and delivering the right solutions
- A keen desire to work in the renewable energy industry and a firm commitment to improving Wind Farm performance and reducing maintenance down-time
- An ability to work in physically challenging environments – regional Western Australia can be hot, there are flies, the wind can be harsh and the turbines cramped.
