About the role – Maximum Term Fulltime until 01/04/2026

Wirraway Homestead supports the mission of Baptist Care SA by “helping young people to connect with themselves, others, God and the natural world through outdoor experiences”.

This role holds the primary day-to-day responsibility for the operations of Wirraway homestead. It will effectively coordinate with other Adventure Service delivery staff from the hospitality, horse riding program and Adventure Services teams to provide an extraordinary camp experience for our guests and participants.

Main responsibilities include managing the accommodation, grounds, building maintenance, and guest services of our 100-bed youth campsite at Wirraway Homestead. This is a ‘hands on’ role, working under the direction of the Campsite Operations Manager, where your passion for making people feel welcome and creating beautiful environments where they can connect and have fun will draw on both your great people and your practical skills.

Key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

• Coordinate service delivery at Wirraway Homestead, working closely with leaders and staff of other Adventure departments (Program Leaders, Hospitality staff, Horse Program staff, and others as required) to ensure that camps at Wirraway are of a high quality
• Lead a culture of excellence among the Adventure team working at Wirraway (high expectation/high support), maintaining high standards of service and anticipating the needs of customers and guests
• Manage and carry out the maintenance schedule of facilities and equipment at Wirraway. Prioritise work and ensure all tasks are carried out in a timely manner and to a high standard.

You will also have the following skills and experience:

• Diploma level qualifications in hospitality/tourism are desirable and/or trade qualifications in construction or agriculture would also be an advantage
• Previous experience in managing accommodation facilities, tourism operations, or campsites (essential).
• A track record of achieving the goals and outcomes of Christian camping and outdoor education
• Able to safely and effectively operate a range of farm machinery
• Practical handyperson skills in basic building maintenance
   

Specific Requirements:

You will be required to have, or be willing to obtain: 

• Full unrestricted South Australia Driver’s Licence 
• DHS Child-Related Employment Screening or Working With Children check
• National Police Clearance
• Training: Provide First Aid (HLTAID011)
• Training: Safe Environments for Children and Young People (Through Their Eyes)
• Ability to work outside of normal office hours may be required 
• Demonstrated experience driving 4WD vehicles and towing trailers
• Travel within South Australia
• Physically capable of undertaking strenuous outdoor activities
