Contract Duration: Ongoing – Dependent on Funding
Salary: RN $113,794 - $122,255 per annum.
ATSIHP $110,100 - $117,125 p.a.
Generous salary packaging: $15,899.94 p.a.
Professional development incentive: Allowance of $1,500 p.a.

About us
Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation (AHAC) is a multi-disciplinary organisation which provides primary health care services to the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region, dedicated to ‘Closing the Gap’ in Aboriginal health within remote Australia.
Anyinginyi consists of five different sections (Health Services, Business Services, Public Health Unit, Sports and Recreation, and Piliyintinji-Ki Stronger Families) which allow them to have a holistic approach to health ensuring that clients' physical and emotional health and wellbeing is given the utmost priority.
Anyinginyi's mission is to be a provider of high quality holistic primary health care services featuring prevention and treatment in the Barkly region in a culturally responsive way.

As a small regional centre, Tennant Creek does not have the facilities one would find in larger country towns like Katherine or Alice Springs however it does provide for all the basics that most people require. About the Role
The Women’s Care & Children's Health Coordinator - RN/AHP will work as part of the Anyinginyi Health, Health Services team, supporting a multidisciplinary and integrated community-based approach to Women’s and Children's Health in accordance with the Anyinginyi Health, Primary Health Care Delivery Model. Based in the women’s and child health clinic. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations. Provide leadership and support for this team to continue clinical women’s and child advocacy, counselling support, advice and promote female and child related health issues, health assessments, screening, treatment, management and contact tracing follow ups in Tennant Creek and surrounding Communities. You will be required to participate in the continuity of patient care, being a leader and coordinator in helping improve patient and better community outcomes within the role of a Women’s Care and Children's Health Coordinator. This team can and may provide extra support by conducting complex case management home visits where needed from time to time.
More specifically, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Maintain confidentiality and work as a member of a high performing multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ensure appropriate rostering of staff & client workflow management.
  • Acknowledge and respect Aboriginal values, beliefs, customs, language and traditional practices.
  • Ensure data, reporting & compliance obligations for services are met.
  • Implement relevant policies & procedures to ensure clinical & legal compliance.
  • Effectively manage complaints from a range of stakeholders (clients, staff & service providers).
  • Assist GPs & other clinical staff as required including visiting health professionals & specialists.
  • Work in accordance with Anyinginyi Health’s WHS policy, the WHS Act, Regulations and Code of Practices, including, ensuring that all staff under their control carry out their roles and responsibilities in accordance with these policies, including compliance with workplace inspections, audits and conducting risk assessments.
  • Ensure identified WHS non-conformances are rectified.
  • Investigate all reported incidents within area of responsibility and report actions to prevent similar occurrences.
  • Be the “Go to Person” for Women’s and children’s Health related issues, referrals, etc.
  • Support and participate in ongoing Continuous Quality Improvement, including contributing to policy development in Women’s and Children’s Health.
  • Provide, Maintain and develop culturally appropriate and accessible primary health services for women and children following clinical protocols such as; (CARPA Standard Treatment Manual, Women’s Business Manual and other clinical protocols such as CDC guidelines and GP’s.
  • Contribute to policy and procedure development on Women’s Health, Child and maternal health.
  • Cohesive team work to deliver effective health outcomes.

About you
To be considered for this position, you must be a RN or AHP with current AHPRA Registration and possess clinical skills and experience needed to work competently in Women's and Children's Health.
Experience working with an Aboriginal organisation or communities will be highly regarded but is not essential, provided you are able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the issues pertaining to Aboriginal Primary Health Care and the social determinants of health in our surrounding communities.
An exceptional communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills needed to tailor your approach to the needs of each family and possess the ability to identify their strengths and build effective relationships with our clients.
