Venues NSW is a commerically focused agency of the NSW Government, encompassing the Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium as well as major sporting and cultural stadiums and precincts in Sydney, Olympic Park, Parramatta, Newcastle and Wollongong. The network of stadiums and entertainment centres host in excess of 5 million people a year at more than 500 events and is a key contributor to the economy. Venues NSW takes an intergrated approach to our stadia and entertainment centres by developing partnerships with sporting codes, the entertainment and event industry, audiences, local businesses, NSW Government agencies and community groups. Our network throughout NSW allows us to combine internal resources and harness a vast employee skillset all of which helps us deliver key projects and secure outstanding content. ABOUT THE ROLE Venues NSW was formed in December 2020 and is a commercially focused arm of the NSW Government. We collaborate closely with Destination NSW, major sporting codes and promoters to excite and entertain the people of NSW with a rich and varied calendar of major events. This role is based at Accor Stadium in Homebush. Reporting to the Workplace Health and Safety Manager, the Work Health and Safety Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating operational advice and training support to all Venues NSW stakeholders and supporting the implementation of the Venues NSW Safety Framework, systems, policies and procedures. ABOUT YOU You will be a passionate and driven Work Health and Safety professional, with a proven ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of safety trends and procedures. Strong communication and influencing skills. Demonstrated experience in working/operating in a strong safety culture. Proven ability and success in coordinating WHS systems. At least 2 years’ experience working in Health and Safety. Previous event or venue experience will be highly regarded.
