Your new role

The Workplace and Property Lead role and will be responsible for implementing and managing aspects of the Fund's Facilities and Accommodation function.

In this role, you will ensure AustralianSuper's global facilities and related assets are safe for employees and visitors and are compliant with all regulations applicable to the jurisdiction the office is located as well as compliant with Fund policy.

You will facilitate a productive working environment and ensure the function is governed in a manner befitting of the Fund's strategic objectives, risk framework and member's first culture.

This is a Part-time - 3 days a week role.

Some key responsibilities but not limited to;

  • Fund Facility Strategy - Contribute to the preparation of the Fund's long term accommodation and facility strategic plan as requested, implement the plan.
  • Location Facility Manuals - Manage the manual lifecycle end to end (from creation, communication, management, and maintenance) for all office specific manuals covering all material facility related matters - safety, compliance (regulation and Fund policy), commercial matters, service providers and workplace environment.
  • Workplace Policies/Standards - Contribute to the drafting of (and implement) Workplace function related policies and procedures, supporting operationalisation and continuous improvement.
  • Reporting - Prepare timely and accurate reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Workplace health and safety - Manage and implement facilities related requirements, including the provision of fire wardens and first aiders.
  • Vendor Management - Manage the relationship for key vendors, including the tracking of key performance indicators and service level agreements in accordance with any Contract Management Plans.
  • Contracts - Arrange commercial agreements and follow tenders' processes as per Fund policy.
  • Build strong positive relationships with colleagues across the Fund interacting with the Facilities function, including Senior Management.

What you'll need

  • Demonstrated background in commercial real estate/facilities management (or a function with similar complexity).
  • Adequate knowledge/technical understanding of building operations, technologies, building services, and asset maintenance.
  • Experience developing and implementing facilities related policy and procedures.
  • Vendor management experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of facilities related OH&S.
  • Analytical and innovative problem-solving skills not only for the immediate problem, but also to look forward and identify other potential problems or additional consequences.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work across the Fund to gain cooperation and meeting timelines.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead, guide, manage and support colleagues.
  • Ability to deal with complexity and ambiguity and work independently with minimal guidance & directions.
  • A focus toward continuous improvement and innovation.
