The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified Workplace Trainer & Assessor for Communications System. This is a newly reclassified role created within the Communication Branch of the Network & Infrastructure Division. In conjunction with the PTA's Learning and Development team you will plan, develop, deliver and review technical training and assessments through on the job coaching and assessments specific to communications systems across the Network & Infrastructure Division maintaining competency standards to meet regulatory obligations under the Australian Quality training Framework and develops and reviews procedures for the Division.

To be suited to the position you will need knowledge of and/or skills in competency-based training and assessment. You will also need to have extensive experience in conducting training and assessing within an engineering or technical environment. You will need to have demonstrated field experience in asset maintenance of communications systems including but not limited to CCTV, Telephony, Radio, Passenger Information Displays, LLPA speakers and Optical Fibre.

You will possess a Certificate IV in Training and Workplace Assessment, or ability to obtain within 6 months of commencement. You will also have relevant understanding of the Railway Safety Act 2015 and other regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will also have extensive experience in conducting training and assessing within a telecommunications environment.
