Job description

In this role, you'll:
Be an integral part of the maintenance of the Far West State road network by providing critical road inspection support. Your role will require you to drive our extensive road network while identifying, categorising and logging defects for our crews to repair. The role involves working in a high traffic environment with the ability to travel to various locations around the state. Your role will also require you to be familiar with information technology tools such as computers, iPads, iPhones and web/app based systems.
You may be required to carry out the duties of a Road Worker grade 3 which involves physical labour and ability to work outside of regular working hours.
Solve routine problems that arise, refer to standard guidelines and manuals, and collaborate with supervisors and managers to resolve complex issues to minimise risks and achieve work goals.
Understand and maintain knowledge of WHS legislation, policies and procedures, assessing and controlling risks, record management and industry requirements to minimise risk and model safe work behaviour.

About you
You are confident and have a keen interest and aptitude with technology and you are confident in operating and adapting to various systems! You are passionate about innovation and are proactively engaged in the rolling out of any new initiatives.
You will have strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of the standard guidelines and manuals for complex road works. You will have previous knowledge and familiarity with WHS Legislation and its framework.
You have demonstrated communication and negotiation skills with the ability to work as a team and autonomously including the ability to effectively communicate to team members, providers and members of the public
The successful applicant will be required to work outside regular working hours (including day+night works), attend after hour call-outs, and must be prepared to travel to various locations within the state when required.
Essential requirements for this role:

  • Technician's Assistant Grade 1 Compulsory Competencies
  • Possession of Construction Industry Induction Certification (White Card)
  • Traffic Controllers Tickets (Traffic Controller & Implement)
