SPRAY PAINTER / WORKSHOP ASSISTANT
Position Description:
No trade qualifications necessary – training can be provided.
Permanent full-time position available after a qualifying period of 3 months, with wages negotiable for the right candidate based on skills and experience.
8am – 4.30pm Monday - Friday. No weekends or public holidays.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Washing and detailing vehicles and machinery
- Dismantling and reassembling equipment and machinery
- Spray painting, sanding, and cosmetic repairs
- Keeping accurate records for parts and labour
- Cleaning and maintaining a tidy and safe work environment
- Adhering to workplace safety policies
- Fitting of parts and accessories
- Assisting senior staff as necessary
Skills
- Previous painting experience highly desirable but not essential – training can be provided
- Forklift license will be highly regarded, but not essential
- Knowledge or experience in equipment and machinery would be an advantage
- Mechanically minded
- Confidence using a wide range of power tools and hand tools
- Ability to work as part of a team, while effectively manage individual tasks with little supervision
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn
- Reliable and responsible
- Pride in workmanship
- Must have reliable, self-sufficient transport to and from work
The position would be best suited to an individual with an interest in automotive, power equipment, and machinery, who strives to deliver high quality work and has a high level of attention to detail.
