Workshop Manager - Senior Marine Outboard Mechanic / Technician

Marine Care Qld are a fast-growing New Boat & Outboard Sales and Service business based in the of heart Redlands, the gateway to Southern Moreton Bay. You will be working with the leading outboard brand Yamaha.

This is a great opportunity for a Senior Marine Mechanic ready to take the next step in their career to run the workshop and a team of Marine Mechanics. Alternatively, if you are an experienced Marine Workshop Manager looking for a change, please apply.

Mandatory Requirements of the position include the following: 

• Qualified Marine Technician - 5+ years experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience
• Ability to service outboards as per manufacturers guidelines. 
• Ability to diagnose complex issues with outboards
• Be passionate about boating and the water
• Natural ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail.

 

Desirable Requirements of the position include the following: 

• Factory based training with a major marine engine brand (preferred Yamaha and/or Evinrude)
• Pervious Workshop Manager experience.
• Experience in rebuilding outboards, gearboxes etc
• A current forklift licence
• Boat fit out experience - electric motors, sounders, battery systems, 12v

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Manage service jobs utilising the team of Technicians and Apprentices.
• Manage the running of the workshop.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Provide exceptional Customer Service.
• Service and repair boats and outboard motors.
• Resolve technical issues.
• Carry out water testing and customer handover.
• Participation in supplier training programs.

This is a full-time position based on 40hr week Monday to Friday on an hourly rate with the opportunity of 9 day fornight. The rate will be discussed with the successful applicant taking into consideration of experience, skill set and expertise suited for the role.
