Job description

Our Federal Government Client is looking for a Workstream Lead.

The Department seeks experienced and capable Project Managers or Program Managers with a strong track record of delivery, who take ownership of outcomes, have the proven ability to build and manage multi-disciplinary Teams. Candidates need to be proficient at managing, coordinating, and supporting multiple projects end-to-end, managing competing priorities of delivering digital service in a complex environment.

Key Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities of this role are:

  • Working with project managers, delivery leads, and other key delivery personnel to plan and coordinate the delivery of projects within a workstream.
  • Preparing project plan(s) to for key projects.
  • Defining resource requirements and securing access to resources.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and direction for the multi-disciplinary team(s).
  • Oversee the delivery of projects within the workstream.
  • Tracking project(s) and providing regular reports to senior executives and other key
  • stakeholders.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks strategic risks across multiple projects and work streams.
  • Devising treatments and mitigations to support the workstream
  • Prepare reports, artefacts, and documentation to support the worksteam's decision-making and governance.
  • Managing and changes in project scope, schedule, or budget.
  • Managing the relationship and communication key stakeholders, ensuring the workstream's projects are delivered to their satisfaction.

Skills and Experience:

We're looking for a candidate who:

  • Has a track record of successful delivery of digital products with agile and multi disciplinary teams.
  • Can identify and understand the risks and dependencies to their projects, working with others to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering agile products and projects in a government setting.
  • Has experience leading multi-disciplinary teams that follow agile and user-centred design
  • practices.
  • Possesses the analytical skills to identify risks and solve problems which may arise in the
  • course of delivery.
  • Experience delivering digital transformation within government

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex digital transformation initiatives within government.
  • Demonstrated experience working to an established strategy and realising its outcomes through delivery.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams, generating motivation, communicating a common purpose, and establishing the conditions for successful delivery.

The role is on an initial 12-month contract with a possible 6-month contract extension option. The work can be done in the Client's offices in ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, or VIC and requires this resouce to be able to attend on site up to 3 days per week.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens who can obtain Federal Government Security Clearances.
