ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Yacht Rigger you will be required to work outside on boats. Servicing, repairing and replacing: rigging, ropes, fittings and accessories. You will be provided with the opportunity to grow your career as a Yacht Rigger within our company. The role includes:
- Out of yacht mast servicing – this includes working with crane operators to remove the mast from the vessel
- Fabrication of wire rigging – this includes lathe work, machine work and swaging
- Mast assembly and stepping
- Mast transportation and packing
- Rope work and splicing
- Rig Tuning
- Conducting visual rig inspections and providing a report for insurance and/or servicing purposes
- Measuring and assessing rigging, for the purpose of providing a quotation on services/materials required
- Workshop duties – including maintenance of tools and equipment
BENEFITS ON OFFER
- Earn up to $90,000pa plus superannuation and paid overtime
- Regular salary review

- Regular working hours, with flexible work arrangements available for negotiation
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30am to 4:00pm, Friday: 7:30am to 2:00pm
- Overtime and earlier start times may be required
- Opportunity for career progression to Senior Rigger and Sales positions within the company
- As a Senior Rigger, this can lead to Leadership roles and training of junior staff
- In-house training with Industry leaders
- A 3 year bespoke training course is provided to you, to support your progression to a Senior Rigger
- Supportive on the job coaching provided by Senior Riggers and/or the Managing Director
- Qualifications provided:
- Marine Training Academy - Sails & Rigs Course
- First Aid Course
- Creating pathways to professional sailing and travel opportunities
- Tools, safety equipment and personal protective equipment provided
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Perform physical activities, such as:
- Climbing masts
- Lifting
- Balancing and moving around a yacht and pontoons
- Working with tools
- Experience operating and maintaining both hand and power tools. Showing quality workmanship and carrying out work in a timely manner
- Experience in working in the Marine industry or having knowledge of sailing is preferred, but not essential
- Assist in the identification of workplace hazards, conduct risk assessments and perform work in accordance with safe work practices and procedures
- Provide information and communicate effectively with team members and our customers. Supporting our positive work culture and high customer-service
ABOUT ROPE SOLUTIONS RIGGING SERVICES
Rope Solutions Rigging Services is a leading company within the marine industry. We are a small business located in the Brisbane Bayside area. We work from our specially fitted out rigging shed and travel to marinas within Moreton Bay, with some travel to the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.
We provide complete rigging and cordage services for yachts and dinghies. We are renowned not only for our quality tradesmanship, but also for our customer service and ability to tailor our services to a customer’s yacht and individual sailing needs.
At Rope Solutions we employ Junior Riggers, Riggers, Senior Riggers and Rope Specialists. We currently have a team of 7 Riggers who report directly to the Managing Director, Chris Anderson. Our Senior Riggers provide training and mentoring to our Junior Riggers and Riggers. We also employ an Accounts Manager and Office Manager.
With 20 years experience in the industry and lifelong sailing experience in both dinghies and yachts, Chris Anderson, Managing Director, leads a team of experienced riggers in the fabrication and installation of rigging, rope work, marine fittings and accessories. Our team are passionate about their work and the services that they provide to customers. This is reflected in our inclusive team culture and positive attitude towards the health, safety and wellbeing of themselves and others.
