AddressBarnardos are looking for a part time permanent Youth Case Manager for the Our Place Youth Foyer Program based in Downer, ACT.This is a part time role, 21hrs a week.
The Youth Case Manager will be responsible for;
- Provide case management to young people in the Our Place Youth Foyer through an advantage thinking approach.
- To assist the young people to sustain their accommodation and transition to independent living, while working towards achieving their personal educational and vocational goals.
- Support the young people to develop practical skills, including budgeting, menu planning, cooking, cleaning, general household routines and structure.
- To work in an integrated and collaborative way with education, health, employment and other critical services.
About You
As a Youth Case Manager, you will ideally have;
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (minimum Diploma Community services, Mental Health, Youth Work) and/or relevant allied health qualifications.
- Case Management experience in a community services area.
- Experience in working with young people 16-25 experiencing complex needs and risk issues in any of the following services areas: Care and Protection, Family Support, Housing, Juvenile Justice Domestic Violence, Mental Health and/or Alcohol and Other Drugs.
- Proven communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the programs as required.
- Willingness and capacity to assist young people with practical tasks(eg cooking, cleaning, moving house)
- Demonstration of an ability to work in a culturally competent, respectful and nonjudgmental manner.
- Assessment, planning and review processes as evidenced by completed service and agency records.

Salary: Base $71,136 to $87,961 pro rata per annum plus leave loading plus superannuation. Packaging available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free. Motor vehicle packaging available on selected roles.
To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number) and for the ACT a Drivers History Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card and CYPS Check.
