MacDonnell Regional Council Youth Services (MacYouth) delivers innovative youth programs across 9 remote communities including Amoonguna, Areyonga (Utju), Docker River (Kaltukatjara), Haasts Bluff (Ikuntji), Hermannsburg (Ntaria,) Finke (Aputula), Imanpa, Kintore (Walungurru), Mount Liebig (Watiyawanu), Papunya (Warumpi), Santa Teresa (Ltyentye Apurte) and Titjikala.
Youth services are targeted to young people aged 12-25 years and include activities such as bush trips, arts and crafts, music, dance, sports, bush medicine, young women's and men's evenings, computing, personal hygiene and health management.
The MacYouth Program includes the facilitation of Youth Boards in 9 communities, in alignment with MacDonnell Regional Council's Strategic Plan. MacYouth also delivers the Outside School Hours Learning Program for children aged 5-12 years in each of the above communities. The program aims to build the personal capacity, self-esteem, resilience and social connectedness of young people so they can make positive life choices and create pathways to bright futures. The role
As the Youth Engagement Officer, Youth Services you will work to contribute to the delivery of youth service programs within a community, including working with a small team of local staff targeted towards young people aged 5-25 years old. As the Youth Engagement Officer you engage in building positive relationships with stakeholders, program administration, resource management and some case work.
MacYouth are looking for someone that possess drive, commitment, a strong work ethic, who is a natural role model for young people and has sound decision-making skills. To succeed in this role you must have a positive attitude with strong communication, experience working with young people, leadership experience, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
