  • Permanent Part time position - 22.75 hours per week (based on a 35-hour week)
  • Salary:  $81k - $92k + Super
  • Ability to transfer or take LSL (Long Service Leave) within Local Government

About the role

The Youth Participation Officer is responsible for assisting in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of innovative Youth Participation programs, events and activities that meet the identified needs of young people within the City of Merri-bek.

Skills and experience require to perform the role
  • A tertiary qualification in the Youth Work, Social Sciences, Social Work or related field with some relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with work skills relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated competency in preparing reports.
  • Demonstrated skills in working with young people including the provision of individual support.
  • Demonstrated experience developing programs and activities for young people using a Youth Participation approach.
  • A current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
  • A current Working with Children Check Card.
  • Workplace First Aid.
  • Local Government experience preferred.
