Job description

MEGT are on the lookout for a 1st-year Fitter and Turner Apprentice. Working from the Keysborough operation centre you'll gain invaluable experience while working towards a Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical).

What will you be doing?
Operating within three main industries - Pulp & Paper, Forestry, and Quarry and Mining - your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing assistance with cylinder rebuilds, pump and motor repairs/testing, and handling various system components and hoses
  • On-site work across diverse industry sites
  • Maintenance of equipment, tools, and work areas, ensuring thorough documentation and service records.
  • Conducting analysis and diagnostics
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the workshop
  • Learning to utilise diagnostic data loggers effectively

What are we looking for?

  • Mechanical Skills: Good grasp of machinery and how it works
  • Open to Learning: Taking direction and learning from Senior Team Members and Management
  • Reliable and Committed: Being on time and willing to go over and above to learn
  • Hands-On Enthusiast: Passionate about practical work
  • Driver's License and Car Access: (Preferable)
  • Drug and alcohol testing: Ability to pass regular testing required to access critical infrastructure sites
  • Flexibility: Ability to work overtime and weekend call-out rosters when required
  • White Card
