About the Region
The South Burnett Region is ideally situated just 2 - 3 hours' drive to Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast. The region is home to the stunning Bunya Mountains, where you can enjoy spectacular rainforest walks, nights by the fire in hidden chalets and the best scenic views Queensland has to offer. About the role
- Based in Proston
- Maximum Term (6 months) Full Time
- $58K - $60K per annum + Allowances + Super
Council is seeking Labourers to assist with the efficient delivery of day-to- day operations for Councils parks, landscapes, and open spaces programs in accordance with community requirements. This role will carry out general horticulture and labouring duties including mowing, planting, weeding of gardens, weed spraying, and watering. Maintenance duties will include maintaining public facilities, town centres and recreational spaces including the street scape furniture, gardens, playground equipment and irrigation systems. The successful applicant will have previous experience labouring and using/ maintaining horticulture machinery and equipment, basic computer
skills, able to use a mobile phone, as well as ability to prioritise tasks
Additional Factors
- Participation in after hours and weekend work is a requirement of this position
- Level of fitness required to undertake a broad range of physical tasks
- Working outdoors in hot conditions
- Immunisation injections will be required for this position (Tetanus, Hepatitis A and B)
Mandatory Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of a current C Class driver’s licence
- General Safety Induction for Construction Worker (White Card)
Desirable Qualifications
- Certificate III in Horticulture
- Playground Inspection Certification
- MR Truck Drivers Licence
- Commercial Operators Licence (unrestricted)

Skills and experience

- Previous experience performing general labouring duties maintaining parks and gardens.
- Proven experience using and maintaining horticultural machinery and equipment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Proven ability to prioritise tasks, follow direction and work unsupervised.
