As a graduate with the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) no two days will be the same. You’ll have exposure to both State and Local government operations and the opportunity to travel throughout Western Australia, allowing you to understand the role each organisation plays within the greater Western Australian community. You will engage and interact with a range of stakeholders, from individual Western Australians through to the Premier and Parliament, developing your skills and experience over your journey.As part of our graduate program, you will be mentored by experts and supported to pursue qualifications and membership with Australia’s professional accounting bodies.The Office of the Auditor General is a Recognised Knowledge Partner of CPA Australia; and a Recognised Training Employer with the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.Learn more about our Graduate program and hear from some of our former Graduates .What’s in it for you?

If successful, you will be offered:
  • a 12-month contract with a starting salary of $79,156 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation

Who are we looking for?
To be a part of our 2025 Graduate Program you’ll need:
  • to have recently completed an accounting degree and meet the CPA or CAANZ requirements for Associate Membership
  • availability to commence early February 2025.
We’re looking for candidates with:
  • willingness to learn and develop expertise
  • experience working collaboratively with team members and stakeholders, treating others with respect and courtesy
  • demonstrated ability to research, analyse and interpret information and report findings
  • ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • proven ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
About the Office
The Office of the Auditor General undertakes unique and important work, auditing the Western Australian public sector.Our financial audit team is responsible for the annual financial audits of over 300 entities across State and local government sector.We help Parliament to hold government to account, are a key source of independent and transparent information for the community and promote improvements to public services. Interviews are scheduled for August 2024 and will be conducted in our Perth CBD office. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by email to advise of next steps in our recruitment process.
