Full-time 2IC/Float Role – Explore and Develop Umina

Explore and Develop Umina Beach is seeking an experienced and qualified Early Childhood educator to join our team as the 2IC. The role will be a Float Role working on ratio and leading and mentoring staff in daily operations of the service including compliance and quality practices. 

The centre is 88 places, with 5 rooms catering for children from 6 months – 5 years. We have a wonderful natural playground, and we are located in the heart of Umina at 204 West Street. 

This role will report directly to the Nominated Supervisor and includes but is not limited to; mentoring/supporting the team, working as the responsible person, stepping in to run a room with staff absences, ensuring lunch covers and programming hours are met and organising staffing and ratios, supporting kitchen food service and positively empowering the workplace environment. You will uphold exceeding standards by ensuring all policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to.

You will have:

• Qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care
• Experience in Leadership/ Leading a team
• Valid Working With Children’s Check
• Current First Aid Certificate – HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting
• Current Child Protection – CHCPRT001 course code preferred
• Thorough knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards and Early Years Learning Framework.
• Knowledge in OWNA online platform recommended. 
• Strong understanding of the importance of family communications. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to extend your knowledge and experience with further study
• Current references.
