As an A Current Affair producer, you'll be responsible for overseeing the production of high-quality journalism which informs, educates and engages our viewers. You'll work closely with reporters, editors, graphic artists and other producers to craft compelling stories which resonate with our audience.
Job Description
The day to day would include, but is not limited to:
- Researching and investigating potential stories
- Initiating contact and reaching out to potential talent
- Crafting interview shot lists and conducting interviews
- Collaborating on production concepts and scriptwriting
- Demonstrating strong story judgement and creativity
- Exhibiting outstanding interpersonal skills and proactive qualities
Qualifications
The following are the qualities and skills we are seeking:
- A deep understanding of the news and Current Affairs: You must have a strong comprehension of current events, politics and the news cycle in general. You must be able to identify critical stories and angles which will resonate with viewers.
- Excellent communication skills: You must be able to communicate effectively with the team and convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Attention to detail: You must have a keen eye for detail and spot errors or inconsistencies in content.
- Strong organisational skills: You must be highly organised and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
- Creative thinking: A Current Affair thinks outside the box and is willing to take risks.
- Ability to work under pressure: You must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Teamwork: We're looking for individuals who share our values of collaboration and teamwork.
