They choose appropriate methods of work and plan and prioritise tasks. They are a subject matter expert and provide advice as the first point of contact for their expert area. They also resolve routine matters related to responsibilities and collaborate with others to resolve complex matters.Your key responsibilities will be to:conduct laboratory-based research activities with excellent WH&S practice, and to generate consistent and reproducible outcomesdevelop research methods and protocolsdrive the research projects’ progress and meet project milestonescontribute and enhance research capacity in corneal related tissue engineering and cell manufacturingactively publish scientific outcomes in high quality journalsprepare grant and ethics applicationstudent and research assistant mentoring/training/supervisingeffective communicate within the research team, and to regularly report progress to team leaders and stakeholdershave a driver licence to travel different sites (eg between University of Wollongong to Sydney) in NSWtravel nationally and internationally to meet collaborators.About youPhD in Biomedical, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Medical Research, or Vision Researchstrong experience in at least 2 of the following area: cell biology, molecular biology, tissue engineering, biotechnology, bio-fabrication, biomanufacturingstrong communication skills and self-motivatedexcellent in time management and task prioritisingcan work effectively in a team and also independentlycapable of driving research progressefficient in designing and conducting research experimentshave drafted and published scientific papers as 1st author in high quality journalsprevious experience in corneal related laboratory research; experience in postdoctoral position, strong track record in publications; experience in animal ethic applications, experience in animal trials, successful experience in grant applications.To keep our community safe, please be aware of our which form our conditions of entry for all staff, students and visitors coming to campus.Sponsorship / work rights for AustraliaPlease note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
