Overview

The Women's and Children's Health Network provides state of the art health care for women and children in Adelaide and South Australia.

We are the state’s leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions and SA’s largest maternity and obstetric service. We also provide important community-based services, of which the Child and Family Health Service is an integral part.

The Child and Family Health Service (CaFHS) is a free statewide service that supports parents and families of children from birth to five years of age, who live across metropolitan, regional and rural areas in South Australia.

With over 100 clinics across South Australia, CaFHS helps parents and families to understand their child’s health, development, and wellbeing needs, which can include breastfeeding, sleeping, settling, introducing solids, parenting and play and development. Each year, CaFHS provides over 75,000 family consultations via in clinic or at home appointments, telehealth (phone) or virtually.

The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the CaFHS Parenting SA Team as an Aboriginal Senior Health Promotion Officer on a full-time contract basis (Until 13th December 2024).

As the Aboriginal Senior Health Promotion Program Officer you will work as part of the Parenting SA team to develop culturally appropriate parenting information resources and strategies that build on the strengths of Aboriginal parents, carers and families in South Australia for raising children from birth to 18 years.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will use your sound knowledge of Health Promotion approaches to improving the wellbeing of Aboriginal families and communities, including quality information development methods.

You will also need to utilise your ability to consult with and engage in a culturally-sensitive manner with a wide range of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal services, families and communities.

If you have experience in delivering parenting, health or wellbeing programs that build on the strengths of Aboriginal parents, carers, families or communities, then this role is for you.
