Job Description:

The Academy Fitness trainer & Member Services role is a key aspect of the Judgement Free Zone and will support the Fitness Trainer in carrying out our PE@PF Program. This position reports to management. You will be working with members who could be first time gym users. This position is designed to provide experience and prepare the individual for a permanent fitness role as one becomes available or to progress in the other varying avenues. Therefore, you must: a) be able to design individual exercise programs for each member based on their exercise experience, medical background, and personal goals. b) be able to fully explain all administered and supervised training sessions in a clear, organized fashion. You will be responsible for familiarizing members with the club, maintaining a comfortable atmosphere for all members, and motivating those that seek your support. Additionally, you will be cross trained as a member services team member. This team is responsible for carrying out key functions for operating the gym, which are: a) providing exceptional customer service and account administration to current club members b) creating and maintaining an exceptional “JFZ” atmosphere in the club c) selling memberships to non-members d) keeping the club and all equipment exceptionally clean and in good working order.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Greeting and saying goodbye to all members and guests.
- Monitoring club access to members and non-members.
- Answering any questions and handling member complaints.
- Having an excellent understanding of the Judgement Free Zone and explaining the JFZ to all members and non-members.
- Answering info calls over the phone and taking messages.
- Giving club tours.
- Design individual exercise programs for each member based on their exercise experience, medical background, and personal goals.
- Training PF members during PE @ PF hourly sessions.
- Submitting all individual weekly exercise selection sheets via Elmo for approval from management.
- Inspecting all Matrix and Life fitness equipment for possible malfunctions or damages and reporting if any are found.
- Inspecting AED equipment.
- Data Input of class attendees into PGM
- Monitoring the “30 min Express” area for people who are using it inappropriately.
- Selling memberships and entering new members into PGM.
- Operating the PGM and collecting arrears through documented company processes and SOP’s
- Will spend at least 5 hours a week assisting PE@PF
Skills required:
- Good phone/communication skills.
- Ability to follow directions well.
- Ability to work well independently.
- Must have an upbeat and motivating attitude.
- Punctual and organized.
Qualifications/Certifications:
- Certifications: Certificate 3 in Fitness. Certificate 4 is not required however advantageous.
- Must provide club with a copy of valid certification or proof you are working toward certification.
- If not currently certified, you must be certified within two months of hire or risk demotion or termination.
- Must be currently CPR certified and provide club with a copy of the CPR certification.
- Must have your WWC (working with children) certificate/ number NSW & VIC, Blue Card QLD from employment commencement date or proof that the process has started.
- Must have completed a National Police Check certificate. NOTE- The NPC Certificate must be within 12 months of application date.
Solicitation Policy:
- Solicitation is not allowed because it can bothersome to the members and is a form of intimidation, which is not allowed in the JFZ.
