The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for an Access and Approvals Officer to join us in our Access and Approvals team in Brisbane or Melbourne on a full time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Manager Access and Approvals, you will play a key role in undertaking the processes required to enable APA Group to plan and secure regulatory, environmental and cultural approvals and gain tenure for its pipelines and energy projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertaking the planning, development and delivery of state and federal environmental approvals and coordination of small-scale land access for gas and renewable infrastructure projects
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders and regulators
  • Ensuring active awareness of relevant legislation that may impact projects and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders
  • Identify and liaise with relevant stakeholders to negotiate structured agreement and option documents, and secure tenure for APA projects.
  • Conduct environmental risk assessments, develop environmental management plans and inspection/verification programs and corrective action plans

Your background

  • Experience in environmental approvals, including coordination/preparation of technical deliverables, reports, project monitoring, project scheduling to meet deadlines and budgets
  • Demonstrated experience in providing sound technical advice on planning/environmental matters for gas and/or renewable infrastructure projects
  • Well-developed verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work in an organised, safe and efficient manner, while working in accordance with policies and procedures applicable to functional responsibilities

About the Team

The team has a diverse range of skills and experiences and collaboratively work to progress projects through development and delivery. Consistent with our purpose to strengthen communities through responsible energy, our team works with the broader project teams to develop project plans and alignments and works with all relevant internal and external stakeholders to coordinate all Access and Approvals aspects of the projects.

The team is currently expanding with the increased focus on renewable energy and this is an exciting opportunity to be part of Australia's energy transition.
