Porter Plant are a leader in the plant and equipment dry hire industry, have branches in 3 states and over 3000 assets, and now we are looking for our next Account and Territory Sales Manager to service Tasmania's South.
Working out of our branch in Moonah you will combine your sales skills and our broad product range, to continue expanding our presence and impact in Tasmania's South.
Our customers operate within the civil construction, road construction and maintenance, utilities, renewables and various government sectors. An internal promotion now leaves us wanting to appoint an energetic, personable and experienced Territory Sales and Account Manager to join our experienced team.
The Role
Reporting to the TAS/SA State Manager, you will manage existing accounts and identify new accounts through your business development activity. Calling on Porter Plant’s existing customer base, networking opportunities and existing professional relationships, there is an expectation of strengthening relationships and negotiating both long- and short-term dry hire opportunities with new and existing clients.

Skills and Experience Required
- A true sales professional with established relationships within the civil construction, road construction and maintenance, utilities, renewables and various government sectors
- 3+ years of account management and business development experience in the plant/equipment hire or related fields
- A proven record of implementing business development strategies to create new plant hire opportunities and solutions with new customers
- Ability to negotiate and price new hire opportunities and tenders, execute and manage the deliverables of the hire agreement
- Experience in CRM usage and understanding of its benefits
- Have a reasonably strong mechanical and technical understanding
- Organised, systematic and planned approach to managing a customer base and territory
- A high level of professionalism, energy and attention to detail
- Exceptional communication and investigative skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
- A good listener. Observes, engages and presents solutions.
- Demonstrated customer service traits for both internal and external customers
- Acts with a sense of urgency.
