Reporting to the Financial Controller, key responsibilities include:
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Support the Senior Accountant in monthly financial reporting and month-end functions.
- Processing daily, monthly, and year-end journal entries.
- Process employee credit card claims.
- Maintain the fixed asset register.
- Assist in preparations of OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
- Preparation of FBT and BAS returns.
- Contribute to projects including system implementations and process reviews.
- Providing backup for Accounts Payable and Receivable.
- Aid in preparing financial reports for APRA, including daily reconciliations.
- Coordinate fortnightly payroll processing (for approximately 40 FTE) accurately and in compliance with relevant regulations.
- Review and process timesheets.
- Maintain payroll system integrity, conduct testing, and handle payroll queries effectively.
- Seek continuous process improvements and stay updated on legislative changes.
- Oversee General Ledger transactions, including Accounts Payable and GST processing.
- Reconcile accounts and monitor expenditure against budgets.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and collaborate with team members as needed.
About you:
Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience in Payroll processing.
- Sound understanding of accounting principles and statutory requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, with skills in Power BI and MYOB advantageous.
- Knowledge of journals and financial statements
- Ideally CA / CPA qualified or studying toward.
- Accuracy, numerical prowess, and attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving ability
- Self-motivated and adaptable
- Stellar time management skills
