Sports Accounting Australia have been assisting sports organisations in Australia with their finance and business planning since 2011. We provide services such as ongoing accounting support, bookkeeping, software conversions and system reviews.
Based in Scoresby, we are currently looking for an accountant to join our team. The role is open for negotiation on PART-TIME or FULL-TIME hours to suit the candidate and whilst we are based in Scoresby, we are open to the candidate being based in another Australian State, this however would be a work from home scenario.

Key Requirements
- Intermediate knowledge of Xero
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Experience in BAS preparation
- At least 2 years' experience as an accountant
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Committed and self-motivated
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to be able to work in a team or solo
- Punctual and reliable
- Ability to be able to deal with CEO’s and assist them in their financial needs
- Confident to present financials to board members & answer queries
Duties include;
Bookkeeping & Payroll;
• Accounts Payable and Receivable
• Bank Reconciliations
• Payroll
BAS and IAS;
• Preparation of returns
• Submission through BAS portal
Annual Budgeting & Quarterly Re-Forecasting
• Assistance in preparation
• Preparation of presentation pack for boards and committees
Reporting and Analysis;
• Monthly financial reporting & analysis;
• Cashflow forecast
Reconciliations;
• Detailed monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
• Posting of general journals
Other Accounting and Business Services;
• Attendance to finance committee meetings to present the finance reports.
• End of Year audit support
• Assistance with software implementations
• Grant Acquittals
• Departmental P&L reporting
• Payroll Tax Submissions
• Year end Workcover Remuneration submissions
• Year end STP finalisations
Successful candidates will be able to show they have experience in all areas listed above.
