We are looking for an Accountant, either Part of Full Time, to join our small Finance team in Carrington supporting our National businesses. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a broad role where you will work across both management and financial accounting disciplines. We also expect our finance team to assist the wider operational business grow commercial capability through our day-to-day interactions.
Based in Newcastle, the office is located near the CBD in Carrington. Your responsibilities will include:
- Month end processing including general ledger reconciliations and financial reporting
- Management and maintenance of the Fixed Assets registers
- Preparation and management of compliance requirements including BAS and Excise tax
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and review of transactions into General Ledger
- Assist in preparation of annual ATO compliance information
- Assist in preparation of annual budgets and ongoing reporting of Actuals to Budget
- Design, development and preparation of business analytics and key performance indicators to support operational performance improvements
- Assist in preparation of documented financial and operational policies and procedures
- Support for the finance transactional functions of AP, AR and Payroll, as required
Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Degree qualified with CPA/CA is desired (or working CPA/CA)
- 5+ years in commercial financial/management accountant roles
- Extensive experience in the provision and analysis of reconciliations and management accounts reports
- Experience preparing workpapers and reporting for External Accountants
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of ERP software programs (Earp Bros operates on Oracle NetSuite)
- Be self-motivated to achieve and deliver daily, weekly and monthly tasks on time
- The ability to work in a team environment as well as working autonomously
- Have a positive attitude and enjoy working with people
