Job tasks and responsibilities:
- Preparing of accounts, tax returns, Business Activity Statements, and other compliance matters.
- Planning, preparing, and executing financial statements with appropriate note disclosures for presentation to directors, shareholders and governing and statutory bodies.
- Verifying government policies, tax-related policies, accounting policies and fair work terms in framing internal operation policies and ensuring all the policies are compiled and are implemented within the standards of accounting controls and processes.
- Conducting risk management and financial budgeting on the Company’s global branch expansions and acquisitions.
- Building, designing and managing our internal accounting system platform with our in-house IT team.
- Inputting financial data into MYOB and Xero system to produce a financial statement that complies with Australian Accounting Standards Boards standards; particularly with regards to accurate accounts coding process.
- Scheduled reporting of financial status of company, and advising management on making major financial decisions.
- Monitoring cash flow, operating costs, and financial risks.
- Managing income and expenditure accounts, identify inconsistencies and facilitate sending reminders or warning letters. Coordinate with debt collector in case of non-payments.
- Ensure, payment and refund policies are agreed by recruiting agents and students at the time of student enrolment.
- Advise management about issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies, and the assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
Requirements:
- At least a Master’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university.
- Must have at least four years of relevant Australian work experience.
- Must be fluent in English and Mongolian languages (the bulk of our business come from Mongolia)
- Flexible to travel internationally when needed at all times
- Experience in MS Office programs and MYOB, XERO accounting software programs.
- Must have intermediate knowledge and experience with company income tax and GST.
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to methodically analyse sets of data and meet deadlines.
