Accountant

Newcastle & Hunter Valley Pty Ltd is a transport company based in New South Wales. They seek an experienced Accountant to join their team.The Role
This is for a full time role with an annual salary between $70,000 to $75,000 plus superannuation and will be based in their office in Mayfield West in NSW.Responsibilities
· Preparation of accounts, tax returns, Business Activity Statements, FBT, and other compliance matters
· Planning, preparation and execution of financial statements with appropriate note disclosures
· Liaising with the ATO and other government departments
· Conducting tax interviews & preparing tax returns
· Liaising with management to meet corporate accounting and tax obligations.
· Providing solutions based on current business and financial conditions
· Performing accounting services including month end close, processing relevant journals, balance sheet, intercompany processing, revenue analysis and statutory accounts production.
· Preparing ASIC report and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations
· Helping solve their tax issues and providing technical suggestions with the usage of accounting software such as XERO and MYOB
· Contribute towards process improvement and implementation and ensuring client confidentiality and privacy, etc.Requirements
· Must have at least 2 years' accounting experience in a professional/commercial capacity gained within Australia
· Relevant Tertiary degree qualifications in Accounting
· At least 2 years' commercial experience in Sage, MYOB & XERO Accounting software
· Must have 2 years' intermediate knowledge and experience with company income tax and GST
· Must have experience with statutory reporting for BAS, Annual reports, ASIC and ATO reporting
· Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· The ability to multitask while maintaining a calm and efficient demeanour
