SalaryA successful and highly regarded Commercial & Residential construction Roofing business, are looking to appoint an experienced driven and passionate Leading Estimator to the team, to assist and be a part of their exciting expansion plans.Having started trading c10 years ago, they have established themselves as one of the market leaders across the Residential and Commercial construction space in Perth.The role:
- Search for Commercial Construction Projects and submit to Operations Manager for vetting.
- Prepare estimates for Commercial Construction Projects.
- Prepares accurate pricing of estimates with the proper level of detail, including labour, material, and subcontract items.
- Critically analyses bid documents and understands risk and opportunities and articulates those to management.
- Prepares quantity take-offs and estimates costs of materials, labour, and use of equipment required to fulfill all provisions of the contract.
- Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops maintaining the project cost history.
- Collaborates with contractors, engineers, and architects during estimate creation to ensure overall accuracy and conformity to fulfill all provisions of contract requirements.
- Develops cost estimates for Variation Orders*
- Prepare and presents estimates to management.
- Attend project site pre-bid meetings, site tours, and post-bid interviews as required.
- Prepares and maintains a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
- Ensure that a quality submission is included along with an estimated price when bidding for new work.
- Assessing material, labour, and equipment that are required, and analysing various quotes from different subcontractors and suppliers at negotiated rates to win competitive contracts while keeping a close eye on profit margins.
- Undertaking contract analysis and providing advice to the business
- Explain terms and conditions to managers and interested parties.
- Maintain organized system of physical and digital records.
- Establish and maintain stakeholder and supplier relationships to identify and minimise risk and maximise the value from the contract.
- Estimating experience within either a Residential or Commercial Construction industry (Roofing experience will be held in high regard)
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to work in a team or independently
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- $100k - $135k + Super (Depending on your experience)
