At VetPartners, we pride ourselves on delivering shared services support that drives success for our veterinary clinics This role is ideal for an enthusiastic, diligent, and committed professional to provide comprehensive Financial Accounting support across the VetPartners Group. The Accountant will manage, prepare, and report accounting and financial data for VetPartners Group. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position ensures financial accountability and supports general accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will thrive in a high-volume environment where multitasking and prioritising are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- General accounting including day-to-day transactions postings, month-end closing, monitoring accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounting for prepayments and accruals
- Monthly reconciliation of balance sheets accounts and ensure variances are brought to attention of Finance Manager and maintenance of general ledger
- Preparation and review of a set of monthly clinic P&L’s and providing variance analysis to budget
- Prepare various tax returns on a monthly basis (BAS, FBT)
- Monthly reconciliations and re-allocation of wholesaler Invoices
- Assisting with audit processes and statutory reporting
- Ensuring compliance with internal financial policies, and procedures, controls and systems
- Assisting in ongoing process improvement
- Ad-hoc tasks as required
Skills, Attributes, and Experience:
Essential:
- 3-5 years' experience in a similar multi-site, high volume operation role with exposure to Australia and New Zealand territories
- CA / CPA Qualified or working toward qualification
- High level of Excel skills
- Demonstrated experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with proven ability to meet tight timeframes
- Solid communication skills, a can-do attitude and high attention to detail
- A Team Player who gels in a team environment at the same time work independently
- Sound time management skills, incorporating the capacity to prioritise and organise workloads to meet deadlines in an environment of change and conflicting demands
- High attention to detail and accurate reconciliation skills are essential.
Desirable:
- Experience with Pronto, MS Dynamics NAV
- Experience within a multi-site entity
- Experience within the Veterinarian or Health Industry
