Due to our company’s continued growth, a fantastic opportunity has become available for a skilled and qualified Accountant.
About the role:
As the Accountant (General), your duties will include preparing financial statements, examining and analysing our company’s financial performance and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, laws, and regulations. You will need to work with cross-functional teams across the company to ensure proper support for the business unit.
Your key responsibilities will include:
· Prepare timely financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, financial projections, budgetary reports, actual vs budgeted variance analysis reports, cost/revenue analysis reports etc
· Prepare BAS and income tax returns
· Examine operating costs and organizations' income and expenditure
· Assist the General Manager to develop financial KPIs to key budget risk areas across the company
· Calculate and interpret financial ratios, such as profitability ratios, leverage ratios, etc. Provide insights into the company’s financial performance and help identify areas that may need attention
· Summarize financial analysis findings for management and other stakeholders
· Create, review and maintain financial systems, processes and documentation that reflect contemporary practices
· Regular liaison with the ATO, ASIC and other relevant stakeholders
· Continuous improvement and streamlining of processes and procedures
· Establish strong internal controls over sourcing and payment processes
· Provide assurance about the accuracy of the information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements
· Provide financial and taxation advice on business structure, plans and operation.
Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor qualification (or above) in Accounting, Commerce or equivalent (essential)
- Understanding accounting and financial principles and how to apply them
· Have a minimum of two (2) years experience in the role of Accountant (General)
- Highly proficient in Excel, including pivot tables. Ability to build complex reports from multiple data sources and analyse large volumes of data
- Experience working with a fast-paced and complex company
· A current and comprehensive knowledge of relevant tax legislation. Candidates without tax experience in Australia will not be considered
· Ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to effectively communicate accounting concepts
· The ability to speak Chinese will be highly regarded
The position is based in the Sydney Office and is full time with an immediate start.

- Expected salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per month
