About Our RoleAn opportunity exists for suitably qualified & experienced Cost Accountant for a fixed-term contract at our Kelso, NSW food processing facility. This twelve month parental leave cover will commence in July and is an on-site based opportunity.Our Kelso operations process seafood and snacking products (75 SKUs) for the retail and foodservice markets, and employs around 100 people. 50 tonnes of product is produced daily with approximately 95% of items being made of either Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) or Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) seafood.Reporting to the Plant Accounting Manager, this Monday to Friday role (start / finish times can be negotiated) will contribute to the governance of site financial activities in line with legislative policy & procedure, internal Simplot guidelines and industry best practice.What You Will DoDuties of this role will include, but are not limited to;

• Implement & conduct efficient and effective financial planning, reporting and processes
• Support in the delivery of forecasts and budgets
• Provide accurate daily, weekly and EOM financial reporting.
• Participate in month end activities and post month end journals
• Provide accurate weekly & EOM financial reporting
• Maintain BOMs and routings in the inventory management system
• Provide costings with data on key cost drivers, opportunities & exposures
• Assist in analysis of business proposals / projects
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with internal / external audits

About You

• Bachelors degree in a related field (e.g. Accounting / Business / Economics) or a current study path towards certification
• Prior experience within FMCG or manufacturing is desirable
• Financial analysis, modelling and forecasting skills
• Strong timekeeping skills with a focus on meeting deadlines
• Attention to detail
• Intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite of products (notably Excel)
• Ability to understand and communicate in financial language / terminology
• A can-do attitude with a diligent approach towards ensuring compliance with legislative / statutory obligations and company policies
