About the role

Viterra is seeking an experienced Accountant to join the team in our Melbourne office. The role of Accountant NZ is responsible for assisting in the preparation of accurate financial information (including local and group reporting) to support business decision making for the Viterra New business. You will work closely with financial and non-financial stakeholders across the business to ensure accurate and reliable data is produced.

Duties may include but are not limited to

  • Prepare daily APEX position reports
  • Assist in preparing weekly statement of funds reports
  • Prepare and post standing monthly journals to SAP for items such as clearing accounts, internal and external loans, reclass entries and prepayments
  • Maintenance of fixed asset registers and processing fixed asset accounting entries
  • Review and uploading of cost accruals
  • Reconciliation of credit card expenditure and transfer of information from the credit card system to GL
  • Perform monthly intercompany transactional reconciliations
  • Provide assistance with accounting for derivatives and foreign exchange transactions
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial reporting and annual budgets
  • Preparing quarterly statistical survey to Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS)
  • Prepare and provide information to fulfill external and internal audit requests

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/business/finance
  • Commenced CA/CPA
  • Minimum 3 years’ post graduate finance experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel
  • SAP and/or AgTech Smartsoft experience will be an advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and proactively manage stakeholders and conflicting priorities
