SIXT is one of the largest car rental brands in Australia and around the world due to its great commitment for services. We are currently seeking an experienced finance manager to join our finance team based in the south of Sydney. This role is an exceptional opportunity for a self-motivated individual with expertise in accounting principles, asset management, fleet financing, and business analysis.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior management to develop budgetary and accounting policies aligned with company objectives and industry standards.
- Prepare & assist financial controller in comprehensive financial statements for various stakeholders, including director, management, franchisor, and regulatory bodies.
- Analyze operating fleet costs, rental income, and fleet expenditure to optimize financial performance and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. Provide assurance regarding the accuracy of financial reports and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Liaise with financiers to establish and manage fleet funds, ensuring efficient cash flow management. Collaborate with dealerships, financiers, and insurers to facilitate fleet acquisition, financing, and insurance processes.
- Coordinating the development, implementation and monitoring of accounting systems. Leveraging & introducing new financial software and technology solutions for efficient financial management, such as rental management systems, accounting softwares, and data analytics tools for decision-making.
- Conduct financial investigations, audits, and analysis to advise on business decisions related to operation efficiency, any suspected fraud or fleet financing.
- Providing assurance & assistance to Financial controller about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements
- Providing financial advice on Fleet acquisition, Fleet sales & operational cost-control measures to optimize profitability. This includes managing variable costs such as fuel, maintenance, and fleet expenses.
- Collaborate with Fleet team to develop fleet plans (asset inflow & outflow) aligned with company strategy and budgetary constraints.
- Collaborate with Fleet team in the acquisition and purchase of new vehicles and assist with the on- fleeting process (Collection & Delivery)
- Provide financial information based on revenue & cost analysis (Fleet & operational expenses), and interpret the implications for business performance and fleet funding needs.
- Working with management on delivering long range branch-based profit forecasts, budgeting and financial reporting to satisfy funding & audit requirements
Requirements
- A minimum bachelor's degree in accounting or a relevant finance field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role - must have asset management experience
- Car & truck rental experience preferable
- Familiarity in using MYOB Exo accounting software
- Strong experience in Office 365 (especially Microsoft Excel)
- Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting & preparation of financial reports
- Strong understanding of costing and pricing
- Strong understanding of car & truck rental industry, plus logistic business experience
- Applicant holds a CPA/CA qualification or is working towards it
- Strong background in relationship management, with at least 3-5 years of experience in liaising with financial institutions, brokers, dealerships, financiers, and insurers.
