Accountant, Tax Returns

Current opportunity - Accountant, Tax ReturnsWe have a full-time opportunity for an Accountant to specialise in individual, Trust, and Company Tax Returns within our Internal Finance team in Brisbane. In this role, you will work closely with a senior member of the BDO team and will have the responsibility for the following:

• Preparing Financial Reports in Xero
• Preparing Income Tax Returns
• Xero cashbook/ledger file set up including chart of accounts, bank feeds, bank reconciliation and end of year accounting journals
• Collate and record source data information accurately in client accounting system
• Reconcile Balance Sheet and P&L items with respective work papers

What you’ll need to succeed

• Relevant Bookkeeping and/or Tertiary qualifications
• Working knowledge of cloud accounting platform Xero is essential
• 2+ years Tax Return preparation experience is mandatory
• Ability to take initiative and work autonomously
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to pick up new technology quickly
• Ideally, you’ll enjoy taking initiative and working autonomously to ensure work is completed to a high standard
