About the role

We are looking for an initiative driven, experienced full-time Accountant to join our team at the Matraville, Sydney office. As a valued team member your role will support the COO to manage the company financials and develop improvements in the financial processes. 

This role is a 2IC role to the COO and has the potential for career progression, training and development and is ideal for someone looking for an exciting next step in their career.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Accounts Payable: end to end responsibility of the accounts payable function, liaising with stakeholders, managing payments and daily bank reconciliations.
• Payroll and Superannuation: Ensure smooth fortnightly payroll processing and management of superannuation administration.
• Tax Compliance: Take charge of BAS, IAS, and FBT preparation and lodgement. Assistance with preparation of annual income tax returns.
• Monthly management reporting: Assist the COO with month end close, complete reconciliations, and maintain ledgers.
• Business Analysis: Dive into business data analysis and reporting, contribute to forecasting, budgeting and maintaining group cash flow.
• Systems Development: Continuous development of financial processes/enhancements and procedures to increase the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting, including systems implementation.
• Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders, including suppliers, operations, sales and marketing teams.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 year’s experience in a similar role
• Proficient in Xero and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
• Has fresh eyes and an innovative approach
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Qualifications

• Accounting/ Business/ Finance degree
• CA qualified or working towards qualification
• Criminal Records Check, or ability to obtain one
