We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Activities Officer to join a city-based organisation. The position will involve the planning and implementation of recreation, leisure and life skill activities for people of all ages and ethnicities. A passion for positively contributing to the local community, providing support, and building relationships with those from all backgrounds.
The Role
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- A welfare and engagement role with the ability to develop indoor activity programs based on individual needs and interests
- Leading structured recreation and leisure activities for adults from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Provide support, needs and risk assessments with the aim of producing tailored programs
Experience Required
We are seeking applications from candidates who bring:
- Two years' experience in developing structured activity programs for adults (essential)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential to communicate effectively with people from various linguistic, cultural and religious backgrounds
- Qualification in social and community work, learning and development, sports and recreation or associated disciplines (minimum of Certificate lll essential)
- Coaching or teaching qualifications (preferred)
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate, Working with Children Check and Australian Federal Police Clearance (essential)
