About Us?
The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region. 

The Allied Health Team will provide culturally appropriate clinical care and supportive health care services to contribute to sustainable changes in the health outcomes of clients through inter-professional collaboration and partnerships with local stakeholders, and organisations.

About the Role?
The primary position objectives are to provide clinical supervision and be a resource for the professional development of the IUIH Occupational Therapists and students placed in Occupational Therapy teams. The Occupational Therapist Clinical Lead will deliver direct, culturally responsive services as part of a multi-disciplinary team, provide clinical supervision, and foster the professional development of the OT team. Within this role, you will be required to: 

  • Work collaboratively within an interprofessional team of health care professionals including Speech Pathologists, Physios, EPs, Paed Nurses, GPs, AHWs, Pediatricians, and more. 
  • Provide clinical services to clients during hours of operation of the service, in keeping with accepted best practice standards. This will include clinic- based appointments and where appropriate community/home visits. This may include equipment prescription, stroke rehabilitation and oedema management.
  • Provide in-service education in areas relevant to Adult Occupational Therapy service provision as required
  • Opportunities to contribute to continuing innovative health service development.

About You?

  • Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
  • Current Criminal History Check
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Valid Disability Worker Screening Check
  • Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate

Desirable, but not mandatory:

  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
