Exciting Role- Temporary, Full-time, Herston | Provide timely and authoritative counsel on food safety and standards to line manager, senior managers, regulatory partners and key stakeholders.

The role  
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to defined service quality standards and health and safety policies, guaranteeing the provision of high-quality, safe services and workplaces in alignment with Queensland Health's core values. Your expertise will be crucial in addressing complex Environmental Health issues, particularly in food safety and standards, requiring advanced knowledge and judgment to develop evidence-based solutions and formulate program goals and strategies at a statewide level. You will play a pivotal role in communication and collaboration, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to plan, deliver, and evaluate policies and standards, offering specialized advice at national, state, and local levels.

Furthermore, your leadership and management capabilities will be essential in influencing the strategic direction of population health interventions related to food safety and standards, ensuring effective implementation within allocated constraints. Leveraging your specialist knowledge, you will lead quality and service improvement initiatives statewide. Additionally, your role will involve knowledge management, where you will apply advanced expertise in researching and assessing food safety and standards information for public health research, policy formulation, and practice, while also overseeing program analysis and review processes.

The successful person
To excel in this position, you must highlight advanced expertise in intricate modern food safety and standards practices. You should demonstrate the capability to apply evidence-based principles effectively, serving as a statewide specialist resource in food safety and standards, providing clinical guidance and consultation on complex matters with minimal supervision.

Moreover, you should exhibit proficiency in shaping the strategic trajectory of clinical food safety and standards practices, utilizing in-depth policy knowledge to elevate statewide service standards. Demonstrated leadership in guiding teams to deliver expert counsel to senior management and stakeholders, along with the ability to apply evidence-based principles in policy development and implementation, is essential. Additionally, possessing a tertiary qualification accredited by Environmental Health Australia is mandatory, with preference given to candidates with postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field. Relevant experience of at least five years is highly advantageous.
