Grade 3 Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist: Emergency Department and OAHKS

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist to work in the both the Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (AMP) services in the Emergency Department and OAHKS, or apply for a component of this role that matches their areas of expertise and availability.

We currently have Grade 3 opportunities aligned to:

  • Osteoarthritis Hip and Knee Service (OAHKS)
    • limited tenure (until 30/06/24): 30 hrs/fortnight
  • Emergency Department (ED)
    • limited tenure
      • 24hrs /fn hours available until 30/06/24
      • 16hrs/fn hours available from the 01/07 - 31/08/24
  • applicaitons for limited tenure and casual hours will be considered

About the Roles

A unique opportunity exists for a credentialed AMP to join our advanced practice teams in these exciting roles:

1. Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy – ED

As an AMP in the ED you will manage a musculoskeletal case load, including soft tissue injuries, fractures and spinal pain as a primary contact clinician in Emergency Department. This role works closely with emergency staff and supports other physiotherapists in the ED and broader musculoskeletal physiotherapy team. The current vacancy aligns to both weekend and week day hours across the 3 Eastern Health sites (Box Hill, Maroondah and Angliss Hospitals). All or part of available hours will be considered.

 2. Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy – OAHKS

As an AMP in the Osteoarthritis Hip and Knee Service you will assess patients with hip and knee osteoarthritis who have been referred from their GP to EH for specialist medical opinion. AMP’s assess and screen these patients to determine the patient’s management requirements, which may include referring for non-operative management or for a surgical opinion if indicated. Current vacancies align to week day hours across Box Hill and Maroondah Hospitals.

These roles are clinically supported by the Grade 4 Musculoskeletal Clinical Lead (Musc Advanced Practice and Acute Specialist Clinics) and operate within an experienced team with peer support available.

To be successful in this role you should possess:

  • Recognised tertiary qualification in physiotherapy.
  • Current registration AHPRA (Physiotherapy Board)
  • Eligibility for Membership of Australian Physiotherapy Association.
  • Extensive relevant clinical experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy
  • Relevant post graduate qualifications (or commencement thereof)
  • Relevant clinical and leadership experience.
  • Experience in supervision of staff and students.
  • Experience in leadership of staff, including professional development and supervision.
  • Experience in clinical education of staff and students.
  • Excellent team integration skills with demonstrated experience in leading and/or participating in effective teams - clinically and non-clinically.
  • Sound knowledge of community organisations and networks.

Desirable

  • At least 7 years of experience within the Physiotherapy profession.
  • Credentialed in an Advanced Musculoskeletal physiotherapy role
  • Leadership / participation in significant clinical research & international / national publications and conference presentations
