About the Role
If you thrive in a dynamic environment, where passion meets professionalism, and your ambition matches ours, you're the missing piece we've been searching for. Join us, and let's craft unforgettable events that leave a lasting impact on the Advancement Division.

As our new Events Officer, you'll be a strategic partner, not just a behind-the-scenes hero. You'll collaborate with the Events Manager to orchestrate captivating events, from intimate to high-profile settings, and engage key audiences – alumni, donors, students, and more.

Be the maestro behind captivating engagements, both online and in-person, for the Advancement team. Your emotional intelligence, innovative spirit, and mature stakeholder management skills will be your tools, ensuring professional growth as you orchestrate unforgettable experiences. Join us and shape the future of Advancement, one event at a time.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Events Manager with the planning and execution of events for the Advancement division.
  • On behalf of the Events Manager, undertake event planning, including all project documentation, budgets, sourcing and managing suppliers, provide briefings, and drafting post event reports and evaluation, along with ensuring correct University protocol is followed at all times.
  • Produce highly detailed versions of a range of event management documentation including project plans, presenter briefings, run sheets, itinerary schedules and individual budgets.
  • Support the Events Manager in sourcing internal and external venues, confirming technical and catering suppliers and arranging travel and accommodation.

Who we are looking for
You weave connections effortlessly, building trust with stakeholders at all levels, from colleagues to VIP guests. Sensitive information is your confidante, handled with sound judgment and discretion. Whether captivating an audience or crafting impactful written pieces, your communication skills shine. You excel at clear expression and meticulous attention to detail. You conquer deadlines with meticulous planning, prioritize tasks seamlessly with stakeholders, and tackle challenges with expertise. You thrive in both collaborative and independent settings, always driving towards the organization's goals.

You will also have:

  • Appropriate undergraduate qualification in a relevant discipline together with moderate experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training as per the current Enterprise Agreement classifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality events within designated budgets.
  • Experience prioritising competing workloads and deadlines; managing expectations while showing sound judgment and an exceptional level of sensitivity in building positive and lasting relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
