The Cabinet team is constantly evolving and has an amazing opportunity for three motivated professionals to join the team on an ongoing and temporary basis, until April 2025.
The Advisor, Cabinet, provides timely and high-quality assistance to assigned areas of Cabinet and Committee operations, policy and project support work, as well as support to the Associate Director, Cabinet, and the broader work team.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective working relationships and communications with internal and external stakeholders across the department, portfolio, and government sector. This includes advising and consulting those participating in Cabinet processes to ensure their contribution to the effective functioning of Cabinet and Committees.
You will gain experience assisting with support arrangements for Cabinet and Committees in accordance with Cabinet practice, including the coordination of proposal and forward agenda processes, preparation of meeting agendas and decisions, scheduling of meetings, and the collation and delivery of Cabinet papers and folders within specified timeframes

About the Cabinet TeamWe help Cabinet make the best possible decisions to achieve the government’s objectives and benefit the people of NSW – we do this by supporting the Premier and the Chair and/or alternate Chairs of Cabinet Committees in ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of the Cabinet system of government.
We ensure matters submitted for consideration are submitted in the right way, at the right time, in line with government priorities and are of the highest quality. We provide advice to the Premier on all proposals coming to Cabinet from agencies to ensure alignment to government priorities.
We work across the entire sector to support the functioning of the Cabinet system by providing strategic advice and leading on Cabinet practice, developing products and systems, and using our skills and experience to create solutions. - You are solutions focused, have a history of working effectively and collaboratively in a high-volume and unpredictable work environment with strict deadlines and competing demands and priorities.
- You are able to quickly analyse and distil concepts, and have experience working with written material.
