The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is a specialist service department working to support the operation of NSW Parliament by providing logistical support and advice to members, the Departments of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly and the people of New South Wales.
The Parliamentary Library provides high quality, independent and client-focused information services to Members of Parliament and their staff.
About the position
We are seeking a recently graduated librarian or information science professional with a passion for special libraries and an interest in current affairs. This position is a development role and will provide a recent graduate the opportunity to participate in a variety of roles and projects while applying theoretical knowledge in a practical and professional setting.
As this position works across two teams it is anticipated that this position will provide back up to all areas/staff members at various times.
To be successful in this role you will:
· Thrive in a cross functional team environment.
· Hold a professional library or information science qualification (i.e., a degree or post-graduate qualification).
· Have demonstrated customer service skills.
· Have excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
· Have an interest in current affairs as well as in emerging library and information technologies.
