This role sits within our External Relations team, which works in partnership with Council divisions and external stakeholders to drive strategic coordination, advocacy and other services that enhance Council’s corporate image and deliver positive community outcomes aligned to Council’s strategic vision and goals.
Our advocacy agenda is focused on creating positive collaboration between all levels of government to unlock our city's potential. Our team seeks to bring challenges and opportunities to the attention of decision-makers through constructive engagement and collaboration. This ensures policy and investment decisions of other levels of government and other strategic partners deliver the greatest benefit to our city and support our community’s vision for the City of Moreton Bay.

About our opportunity
This is a great opportunity to drive some exciting projects for our growing city!
Leading a team of 6 government and stakeholder relations experts, we will look to you to lead the delivery of our Advocacy Plan and provide strategic advice to support the interests of City of Moreton Bay.
As part of our External Relations leadership team, you will focus on bringing opportunities to the attention of decision-makers through strategic level negotiations and constructive engagement to address the current and emerging challenges faced by the City.
In addition, you'll:
- Manage complex and multi-disciplinary proposals, strategies and projects to enhance reputation and deliver positive outcomes.
- Lead the prioritisation, development and delivery of the work program considering key risk and opportunities.
- Identify and advocate for significant investment and funding (eg. budget submissions, election commitments, grants) with State and Federal government and other sources, through extensive political, departmental, private sector and industry engagement.
- Provide support and strategic advice to the Mayor in his role as City of Moreton Bay spokesperson in a range of forums including Ministerial meetings and delegations.
